GM and Honda Tie up

General Motors Company , is an American  manufacturing corporation headquartered in , United States. The company is the largest automobile manufacturer based in the United States and one of the largest worldwide. , while the other company i.e. Honda is an Japanese manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles, and power equipment, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo . Now both different companies have plans to come together .

Well GM and Honda is going to come together for making an affordable Electric cars ,This partnership could potentially position GM and Honda as the highest-volume EV manufacturers in the world within a decade. What’s so special about this partnership is that the new evs will be based on a completely new global frame work structure that will be using advanced Ultium battery technology which is different from lithium battery as Ultium battery produces the energy range from 50 to 200 kWh, which could enable a GM-estimated range up to 400 miles which are designed for level 2 that supports DC charging too .

Since all the manufacturers have taken a decision to go completely electrical ,by 2027 and for doing so certain manufacturers are trying to go from hybrid and then later fully electrical , like the Honda city hybrid which is going to be unveiled on 14th April 2022, in India . GM and Honda will also collaborate to reduce the cost of electrification and improve performance and sustainability for future vehicles.

GM & Honda plans to target EV production of 2 million units by the end of 2025. GM has already been working to expedite technologies like lithium-metal, silicon and solid-state batteries to upgrade battery cell manufacturing processes & committed to achieving carbon neutrality in its global products and operations . On the other hand , Honda is too contributing its efforts towards all-solid-state battery technology .

Honda has plans to collaborate build & introduce Honda Prologue, to be unveiled in early 2024, followed by Acura’s first EV SUV.
