EV and ICE connection

All the current car manufacturers are moving towards the EV . As a result to bring a good and improved EV’s , the manufacturers are bring new EV’s on the ICE platform . And many American Manufacturers have started some developments related to it by retooling their manufacturing plants to accommodate what they expect to be a surge in EVs, battery-powered EVs (BEVs), and hybrids, but as per the reports integrating both the systems is very challenging . As EV not only includes just pure Electric Vehicles but –

BEV = Battery Electric Vehicle ,PHEV = Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, HEV = Hybrid Electric Vehicle and more . And secondly ICE includes an engine , whereas EV includes a lithium ion battery and motors that are totally different components .

But as per the reports of economic times , these both can co-exist in India .Also Tata plans on bringing a 2 new EV’S based on the ICE framework before the production of Tata’s newly unveiled Curvv EV concept .As per zig wheels report, The Managing Director of  Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “ Before the Curvv there will be more products in the Generation 2 platform that are already existing as an ICE model. Being Gen 2, they will undergo an architecture modification to adapt it for electrification and with more differentiated elements for the EV.”

As per the reports , the ICE based engine would be replaced by electric powertrain, along with Gen 2 alterations including the body structure and flow to accommodate more battery packs to utilize the reduction in battery prices and enhance the range. So there’s the possibility of a flat-floor setup in the new Tata EVs.
