Taigun – The smaller sibling of Tiguan

Volkswagen has been in the market for a long time and being a German manufacturer it always tries to provide all the best in class features and attractive looking cars right from the hatchback to SUVs, although it shares features similar to Skoda you may still find a difference. It also shares similar features of another German manufacturer BMW. Considering the new market trends, Volkswagen has recently introduced its two SUV’s Volkswagen Taigun and Tiguan and we got a chance to see both the cars. But in this article, we are going to specifically talk about Volkswagen Taigun And will update another article on Volkswagen Tiguan soon.

On the exterior, we get a bold and aggressive front profile with chrome finish grills along with the projector headlamps integrated with DRL’s and led fog lamps that are merged with a chrome bumper and below we get the honeycomb structure with chrome skid plate .on the sides we get 16 and 17-inch alloys which vary as per the 3 variants, electrically adjustable orvms, while on the GT version you also get GT badging on sides, however, the GT and GT plus version details are yet to arrive .coming back to doors we do get request sensors on both driver and co-driver sides. While moving on the rear we get the boxy led taillamps which give it an impressive and stylish look.

inside the cabin, we get quite comfortable and spacious seats in front and rear seats with a lot of leg space and a good amount of headroom for healthy and taller people. On the steering wheel we do get cruise control with steering controls but they have swapped the position of both and you get the paddle shifters but only on Highline and top-line auto variant, it also gets virtual cockpit-style digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment display with android auto and apple car play support apart from this you also get VW to play apps, the touch and feel is also good and when you touch the dashboard you may feel a little bit of carbon finish. Also, we get a cool glove box, wireless charging, auto climate control ac with ventilated seats (optional )in different variants, with 2 USB type c ports in front and even in rear seats with rear ac vents . And yes the sunroof. The boot space is also good, you can fit your 3 suitcases comfortably. the features vary as per the variant

The power terrain is divided into 2 broad classifications – Dynamic and performance line under which dynamic line comes in 1.0-liter TSI engine matted with 6-speed manual and auto transmission, but only highline and topline model gets auto transmission ie the DSG gearbox, and a manual transmission is available in all 3 variants ie Comfortline, Highline and topline. The performance line is further divided as GT and GT plus which is powered by 1.5 liter TSI in which GT gets, 6-Speed Manual and GT plus gets 7-Speed DSG Automatic.

the safety features we get in the new Taigun are as follows- Engine immobilizer with the floating code system
Speed alert system Parking sensors, rear Reversing camera with static guidelines, Manual dimming, interior rearview mirror, Auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, Front fog lamps with static cornering light
Rear defogger, Rear wiper and washer, Auto coming/leaving home lights, Manual coming/leaving home lights which are distributed under different versions.
